Launch of new membership for Parish Councils
As ELF sees the number of enquiries that we receive from Parish Councils increasing, we have now created a separate membership category to accommodate this. Already underway is an initiative particularly aimed at Parish Councils and their interaction with the Neighbourhood Planning system promoting draft policy to reduce energy emissions from local house building.
We have had a number of judicial Reviews where we have worked with Parish Councils. In the case of Crondall Parish Council vs. Secretary of State for Housing Communities and Local Government and Others, ELF assisted and as a result Parish Councils are able to make use of the Aarhus cost rules to limit adverse costs
As a grass roots charity we recognise the significant role that Parish Councils play as the first tier of local democracy. We have established this category of membership to enhance our relationship with Parish Councils.
