Opportunity for law student working with Sussex Wildlife Trust

By clairefowler

ELF has been working with a number of regional Wildlife Trusts over the past few years. We have had an enquiry from Sussex Wildlife Trust who are currently doing a landholdings health check of their nature reserves and properties https://sussexwildlifetrust.org.uk/visit Sussex WT is the leading nature conservation charity in Sussex and owns approximately 47 nature reserves across both East and West Sussex.

We are looking for a law student or someone with a legal background who would assist SWT in reconciling their landholdings records, both paper copy and digital. They want to align the Land Registry property registers with the paper and digital records that are held. They are looking to do a complete inventory on landholdings and have been provided with a template by a local solicitors firm of how they could order the documents and what they might want to look into. For example, wayleave agreements, drainage agreements, leases, covenants, incumbrances affecting land, third party rights, restrictions on title, special designations or planning agreements.

SWT would like to find an enthusiastic person, who would appreciate the experience of working with a nature organisation. The role would require that person to come into their offices at Woods Mill in Henfield, West Sussex. Travel expenses will be paid and remuneration offered.
