Post Brexit: The State of Nature’s Recovery – A David Hall Conversation

By Elf

Introduction:

The David Hall Conversation proudly returns following last year’s success. Continuing the legacy of David Hall’s dedication to environmental discourse, we invite you to a night of insightful conversation. This year, with a special tribute to Martin Polden, OBE, followed by a private art exhibition and refreshments.

This year’s conversation

The conversation will be expertly chaired by Richard Wald KC (ELF’s Chair) and will feature insights from two prominent voices in environmental policy, conservation, and nature advocacy: Ruth Chambers from Greener UK and Craig Bennett, CEO of The Wildlife Trusts. Together, they will explore the shifts, challenges, and advancements in the UK’s natural landscapes and legislative framework since Brexit.

We will also take time to honour the memory of Martin Polden OBE, a founding member of ELF. His passion and contributions to the field of environmental law continue to inspire our mission.

Art Exhibition:

Following the discussion, attendees will be treated to a private view of “ELEMENTAL - An Exhibition of Environmentally Related Art”. Stephen Tromans KC, a long-term supporter of ELF and past Chair, has produced a series of art works with an environmental theme, which will be on display at his Chambers, 39 Essex, at 81 Chancery Lane, London, from 20 November to 20 December.

Attendees of the David Hall lecture will be treated to a Private Viewing of Stephen’s work after the event. The exhibition can be seen during working hours and at the David Hall Conversation private view on Wednesday 6 December. Further details about the exhibition and a link to the e-catalogue will be available on the 39 Essex website from 20 November. Original works can be purchased, also prints, and printed catalogues. All proceeds will go to support the work of ELF. The exhibition is most generously sponsored by leading environmental information and data providers, Groundsure.

Supporting the ELF Cause:

In conjunction with the event, 39 Essex Chambers is spearheading a crowdfunding campaign in honour of ELF. This initiative aims to rally support and raise essential funds for the Foundation’s ongoing work in environmental law and advocacy.
