Young ELF

By clairefowler

‘Young ELF’ is a new and emerging branch of ELF, providing support for those on the journey from school to professional practice. For many years ELF has worked with those in the early stages of their environmental law careers and this continues through our university partnered advice clinics as well as our wider Advice & Referral Service and outreach work. Young ELF has evolved out of this experience.

The Young ELF programme aims to familiarise students and professionals with the impact of environmental law issues on the quality of life of local communities, the value of the public interest approach in addressing them, and the cross-disciplinary nature of such work. We are delighted that Stephen Tromans QC has agreed to be Young ELF’s patron.

In addition to legal (and policy) clinics, the Young ELF programme will include training, outreach and networking opportunities. It will be open to all members of ELF but focused on those from school age through to 7 years’ professionally qualified. The programme will therefore appeal particularly to students of university/school members, trainee solicitors/pupil barristers, recently qualified professionals (lawyers and consultants).

If you would like to find out more about Young ELF or to get involved then please let us know.
